Homemade, Top 8 free & delicious! Easy to make, protein candy bars to make grab & go snacking healthier & allergy-friendly

Grocery shopping for a family with special dietary restrictions has gotten easier over the years.  I have found that it is safest to stay on the outside of the aisles and stick with mostly fruits and veggies.  Once I make my way toward the center of the store it is filled with all kinds of processed foods and very little of them are safe for our little guy. Occasionally you find a specialty item that seems like a life saver but for the most part, it's a tricky time walking through those areas, especially when it comes to Protein Bars.

Now that we’ve wrapped up the year and beginning anew, it’s a good time for a fresh start. That means getting back to healthy foods and healthy routines again.

Ginger & Mango team up to provide a healthy smoothie with a little bit of kick! Spicy Mango Tango Smoothie is V & GF.

Smoothies are a good thing and a great way to increase the amount of fruits and vegetables we eat.  Too many of us look to the next best fad diet instead of what's right in front of us.  Instead of low carb, calorie counting, magic pill taking or using a special wrap, it really comes down to simplicity. Eat simple, real foods, mostly plants!  That's why I love this new ebook called 40 Days of Green Smoothies by Becky Striepe.  It's the perfect companion to do just that! Getting out of bed early isn't awesome, but this breakfast recipe from the new book Vegan Bowl Attack! by Jackie Sobon of Vegan Yack Attack IS!

Bowl food. It's the latest craze! But while I was creating a Pinterest board for vegan bowl food, Jackie Sobon went ahead and created an awesome cookbook.  Darn it!  :)  Actually, I LOVE this cookbook.  It is filled with more than 100 one-dish, plant-based bowls that everyone can enjoy, vegan or not.  They're hearty, nutritious and delicious, and sure to please anyone.  Just take a look at that Apple Pie Smoothie Bowl, doesn't it look fun?.

HOLA!  Buenos dias? Having just returned from Mexico on family vacation, I am completely inspired to share an incredibly easy to make, inexpensive, protein rich, Breakfast burritos.  But before I do that, I just have to say how impressed I was with our trip to Cabo. Beyond it just being so darn pretty, and not mention relaxing, everyone we met were kind & polite, even when we passed on buying their goods they were selling on the marina.  What really blew me away, is that almost every restaurant we went to for dinner, asked right off about food allergies, even the gentleman taking our reservations! Way to make a food-allergy-mom feel more comfortable!   I can't remember the last time one of my waiters here actually asked about any potential allergies.  Needless to say, it was a wonderful time away and I am thankful everyone took such good care of us.
