Every so often I really miss Chik-Fil-A. There was just something about the sandwich that I really loved, maybe it was the fried greasy goodness, or maybe it was just their special sauce. Either way, when you go Vegan, its really not an option any more.
Thankfully, here is a close 2nd in our home and it seems to satisfy my big boys who still like to eat meat on occasion. Obviously this doesn’t count as homemade or unprocessed, but it is allergy free and such a better option than the drive-thru.
Boca has a Spicy Chik’n patty that is Vegan which I love! That little bit of spice just makes it “oh so nice”. Really anything spicy makes me happy. Then there is Alexia’s Waffle Cut fries which my kids really enjoy eating, PLUS they are All Natural. I just bake those in the oven at the same time and start prepping everything else whileΒ they are cooking.
Once everything is baked and ready, put the patties in betweenΒ Nature’s OwnΒ Whole Wheat Sandwich Rolls Β (which are without Dairy, eggs or nuts so its a “safe” one in our home) and you’ve got the start of a great dinner. Then top your sandwich with someΒ VegenaiseΒ and you’ve got your own Made-at-home version. You can even go all out and add some lettuce, tomatoes, and sliced onions to load on top, and make it a “Club”.
Remember when I said I really love their special “sauce” well I make a recipe kinda similar just making our substitutions. You can use this in place of the Vegenaise, like I do. Its great because it makes extra that I can store in sealed in the refrigerator and use it to dip veggies or add to avocado sandwiches.
